Eye Surgeries:

Cherry Eye
A cherry eye is the eversion of the tear gland of the third eyelid. Eversion usually occurs when the gland gets enlarged. There are numerous theories for why this enlargement occurs, and there are probably multiple factors for it. Of these factors are possible fascial attachment abnormalities, specific pathogens affecting the eyes, etc.

Entropian
An entropian is where the eyelid margin rolls inward, allowing the haired skin to rub against the eye. Entropian can be caused by genetic, developmental, spastic, or cicatricial factors. Developmental cases can occur later in life. Spastic cases may be due to corneal foreign bodies, ulcers, etc. Cicatricial causes are associated with eyelid scarring.

Nictitans Flap
Otherwise known as the third eyelid flap, we use it to support and protect the cornea after trauma.

Distichia
This is where eyelashes grow in wrong. This is much more painful than simply getting dirt in your eye, because the eyelash continues to grow.

Enucleation
Is the removal of the eye itself, the nictitating membrane, and the eyelid margins.
